Course Overview
This course is ideal for children in upper Key Stage 2 (ages 9 to 11) who would like to learn Science in a group with a focus on understanding more how the human body works. This would be a useful introduction to Science for children who plan to enter any of the PX KS3 Science Classrooms, not just the PX KS3 Biology Classroom.
Course Method
The lessons include slides, short relevant video clips (e.g. the heart beating), and interactive sessions. These interactive sessions include bringing foods to show the group in the food session; showing baby photos in the session on babies & growing up, and learning how to take a pulse in the blood vessel lesson. The focus is on learning about the healthy human body. Homework is set which often involves making models of the relevant system of the body.
