Key Stage 3 Latin – Term 3 (April 2027)

Course Overview

This KS3 Latin course is suitable for complete beginners or can be tailored to suit those who have already some knowledge of Latin. The course broadly follows First Form Latin by Memoria Press.

No prior knowledge of the subject is required. A minimum age of 11 is advised.

Course Method

The following textbooks need to be procured in advance of the course:

• First Form Latin (Memoria Press UK) (ISBN 9781547703319)
• First Form Latin Student Workbook (Memoria Press UK) (ISBN 9781547701674)

This PX Classroom is held on Zoom and also makes use of Google Classroom as a learning platform. It is an intimate class with a maximum of 8 students to allow each student to engage in verbal translation and grammar exercises. Grammar points as well as Roman culture are discussed. There are also some written grammar and translation exercises.

Vocabulary homework is set each week in addition to completing worksheets in the student workbook. This should take approximately one hour in total. These workbooks are self-marked by the student or the parent.

Course Details

Term 3 comprises 8 weekly lessons. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes.

This PX Classroom is held on Mondays at 12pm (London time zone) starting from Monday, 12th April 2027. There will be no lesson on 3rd May due to the Bank Holiday nor on 7th May. The last lesson is due to be on 14th June 2027.
