Course Overview
This two-year course covers all content for the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE French specifications. Time is given in Terms 5 & 6 for exam preparation. It assumes KS3-level or equivalent knowledge. Learning a foreign language can be daunting, so this PX Classroom aims to create a supportive environment with clear, structured, grammatical instruction.
Course Method
This course follows the content of the current Pearson Edexcel IGCSE French student book which must be purchased in advance either in print or digital form (ISBN 9781292306179). Lessons are lively and interactive with lots of opportunities to practise the four core skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Homework is set from the textbook with weekly grammatical exercises (self-marked) and skills-based tasks with teacher feedback via Google Classroom. Students will be expected to record and learn topic-based vocabulary each week. The weekly home-study normally takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to complete.
Course Details
Term 2 comprises 11 weekly lessons. Each lesson lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes with a short break in the middle.
This PX Classroom is held on Tuesdays at 2pm (London time zone), starting from Tuesday, 6th January 2026. There will be no lesson on 16th February due to half-term. The last lesson is due to be on 24th March 2026.
