IGCSE French – Term 1

Course Overview

This two-year course covers all content for the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE French specifications. Time is given in Term 6 for exam preparation. It assumes KS3-level or equivalent knowledge. Learning a foreign language can be daunting, so this PX Classroom aims to create a supportive environment with clear, structured, grammatical instruction.

Course Method

This course follows the content of the current Pearson Edexcel IGCSE French student book which must be purchased in advanced either in print or digital form (see here). Lessons are lively and interactive with lots of opportunities to practise the four core skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Homework is set from the textbook with weekly grammatical exercises (self-marked) and skills-based tasks with teacher feedback via Google Classroom. Students will be expected to record and learn topic-based vocabulary each week.

Course Details

Term 1 comprises 12 weekly lessons. Each lesson lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.

This PX Classroom is held on Thursdays at 12.30pm (London time zone), starting from Thursday, 5th September 2024. There will be no lessons on 17th or 24th October. The last lesson is due to be on 5th December 2024.
