GCSE German – Term 1 (Sept. 2026)

Course Overview

This Edexcel GCSE German course helps students develop practical communication skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students build confidence using German in real-life situations while learning about German-speaking cultures and everyday life. Throughout the course, students expand their vocabulary, improve their grammar, and practise expressing their ideas clearly and accurately. Lessons prepare them for the Edexcel GCSE examinations through engaging activities, regular assessment, and exam-focused practice. By the end of the course, students have the language skills, cultural understanding, and confidence needed to achieve their best and continue studying German beyond GCSE.

Students should have successfully completed the PX Classrooms Beginners (KS3) German course, or an equivalent course, before enrolling in this classroom.

Course Method

Teaching combines interactive online activities with independent learning to develop all four language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing). Lessons include vocabulary building, grammar practice, speaking and listening tasks, reading authentic texts, and structured writing activities. Students regularly review previous learning, receive constructive feedback, and complete exam-style questions to build confidence and improve performance. A variety of resources and collaborative tasks support different learning styles while ensuring steady progress towards success in the Edexcel GCSE German qualification.

Course Details

Term 1 comprises 14 weekly lessons. Each lesson lasts one hour.

This PX Classroom is held on Thursdays at 1pm (London time zone), starting from Thursday, 3rd September 2026. There will be no lesson on 22nd October due to the half-term break. The last lesson is due to be on 10th December 2026.
