A-Level Biology (2027 exam) – Term 6 (April 2027)

Course Overview

This course covers the content for the Edexcel International A-Level in Biology Specification. It is a one-year course and assumes that AS-Level Biology has already been achieved.

For the Cambridge International A-Level or the AQA A-Level in Biology please contact the class teacher before purchasing the course.

At AS-Level, the assessment of practical skills is by written exams only. At A2-Level, a separate practical endorsement can be taken. This is advisable if the student wishes to study Science at university.

The International A-Level offered by Edexcel has basically the same content but no practical assessment. This course’s content also fits the Edexcel option.

Course Method

The lessons are taught using PowerPoint presentations. Notes and diagrams to fill in are distributed prior to lessons where appropriate. Students make their own notes using the class PowerPoints and the textbook and complete the practice questions from the textbook. The current Edexcel International A-Level Biology Student Book 2 (ISBN 9781292244709) must be acquired in advance. Homework is self-marked. Tests compiled from past-papers are set at the end of each topic and are marked by the Teacher.

Course Details

Term 6 comprises 12 weekly lessons (two per week for 6 weeks). Each lesson comprises two 40-minute sessions with a short break in between.

Term 6 covers Topic 8 (Co-ordination & Response and Gene Technologies).

This PX Classroom is held on Tuesdays at 10am and on Thursdays at 10.30am (London time zone), starting from Tuesday, 13th April 2027. The last lesson is due to be on 20th May 2027.
